Moving readily to the fore while angling inwards a bit the CITY PLACE filly, dictated the pace on a comfortable margin under light rating in the opening half. Forged clear racing into the upper stretch and was kept to pressure to maintain the advantage LA TIA won $100,000 1 1/16 Mile Lincoln Heritage Stakes at Arlington Park by 3 ½ L.

Having a good early speed and setting a pressured pace, THE GREEN MONKEY filly then inched away into the turn, coming off the rail drifting out into the stretch, then kicked clear and held gamely winning the $70,000 Manhattan Beach Stakes at Hollywood Park.
